What would you have done? Would you have fulfilled the second order without the allergy note even with knowing it was the same person and they’d alerted you to an allergy earlier? Or would you have canceled it like I did? Knowing that they told us about the allergy, I couldn’t in good faith send out an order now with onions just because they resubmitted the order without the notes. I stood there holding the order slip for a moment before confirming with my boss. Takes a few minutes but I contact customer support and they cancel the order. I go to the tablet and….no way to cancel it. There’s no way to do this order without basically sending him just noodles with a few small veggies and broth and a plain salad which we knew he wouldn’t want. We don’t do this often but we don’t want to risk it. So now basically this whole guy’s order is worthless because it’s all got onions in it. But then he paused and said that the sauce the chicken is cooked in has onion in it. I went to check with my boss that the base of the ramen didn’t also have onions and he confirmed it didn’t. Meanwhile, the order timer is ticking and is already assigned to a driver! Shit. I leave a message and ask they please call back. We can take those off, so I attempt to call the customer and it goes straight to voicemail. The ramen also has onions and green onions. I checked the Ranch, the only other dressing we have - onion. We’ve gotten vegetarians who’ve accidentally eaten our ramen (not veggie friendly) because another waitress just thought “no chicken” was fine and didn’t warrant any further questions. Whenever people say “no x/please leave out x” I immediately ask if it is an allergy/dietary restriction/etc to ensure we can honor it appropriately. We’re a Japanese restaurant and of course have people who come in with deathly shrimp allergies apparently looking to play Russian roulette with their sushi.

Received an Uber Eats order tonight stating “No green onions or onions!! Onion allergy!!!” Their order had two items: a house salad and a miso ramen. Just because I'm gay doesn't mean I'm a toy, and just because I'm stuck putting up with it doesn't mean you can just say what you want to me! Whyyyy would anyone think that was ok? It's not flattering, it's completely dehumanising. They even tried to rope my coworker into it. They somehow thought it would be appropriate to ask/speculate on what I'm into in bed. They straight up started commenting on my ass when I bent over to grab something from the fridge.

They were making me really uncomfortable right from the start. This weekend, a group of three women came in and spent most of their time hanging out at the bar. Most commonly this is from other guys, but some of my creepiest experiences have actually been with straight women.

Was it really not OK to offer your husband the chance to try your meal and vice versa? The waiter told them, yes, that management didn't like this. They quietly double checked they had understood this. The waiter looked a little sheepish and told them that the management didn't like people "sharing their food". After a quick discussion at the table they felt they had no explanation for this themselves so they decided to ask the waiter. Tried to figure out what they had done wrong. It basically said that their behaviour was not appreciated by the management and were cordially asked not to return.įirstly they were shocked. They got their bill, paid, and were about to leave when they noticed something hand written on their receipt. 4 different starters, 4 different mains, 4 different desserts, etc. They decided to order different things so that they could try as much as possible. They were very excited, got all dolled up and were looking forward to an amazing experience. They decided to splash out and booked a table for 4 at a TV cook's 2 Star Michelin restaurant in the city. One of their group was celebrating a 50th birthday - pre COVID.
